On a personal note, I want to give a shout-out to my husband. He has always supported me in buying great used cameras and lenses. I shared with him tonight how thankful I was. We have paid off our mortgage and haven't had car payments in many years. I say that because another photographer stated that I must have a great job to have my camera. We live pretty simply, and my husband thinks it is a pretty good investment given the happiness it brings.
This means so much, especially with the diagnosis of dry macular degeneration. I want to enjoy photography as long as possible. Photography, like music, is a universal language. It connects us as humans and always tells a story.
The old Life magazines are a treasure. A memory caught in a photo becomes such a treasure as the years go by.
The music played before these games are the songs I listened to as a teenager in the 80s. It feels like yesterday.
It doesn't seem like it was all that long ago, but I am 57, nearly 58. Time really does speed by.
A piece of history, a reminder of the days of long ago. The story of who we were.
It is just a small corner of our planet, but it is our home.
