Life is good, and moments like this are absolute joy!  Look for the whole story in an upcoming Gleaner.  Please support your small town newspaper.T- Ball season has come to an end.  To mark the end of the season, a game between the kids and the parents was on the schedule.

The game was about to begin against these young ball players.  The grown-ups sized up their competition and may have been a little intimidated.  The Tangens arrived pumped to play, the fire stoked by the music of AC/DC, and for Sadie Askew, it was "Thunderstruck."

The dads made sure to warm up by tossing the ball around.  Philip Bumgartner shared that his special skill was to "Watch the first two strikes!"  Milly's dad, Nick, told his team that it had been a while since he had been swinging, adding, "It is all in the hips!"

The kids brought the game to the parents with a relaxed, no-stress confidence.  Who says you can't sneak in a quick angel in the sand or ponder the shapes of the clouds?  They were quickly on the run to tag their parents out, and boy, did that ever bring the smiles.

The parents showed off their athletic prowess, with Carly Beckel pointing her bat skywards to call her shot.  There was even a painful slide into home, proving they aren't quite ready for the old people's home yet.

It was an evening that created some magical childhood memories.  A special thank you goes out to the kiddos' coaches: Syver Thosgard, Evy Mutchler, Gracie Thorsgard, and Grant Enger.  They enjoyed seeing how the kids improved their skills like hitting, fielding ground balls, and throwing.
